At Creative Internet Design, we had a long relationship with Marc Geiger of American Recordings. He was also co-founder of Lollapalooza along with Perry Farrell. He tapped our company to create the web site for the tour in 1996. It was one of the first web sites with animation doing with GIFs and a Flash-required front page. It was also the first tour for which you could buy tickets online.
The site was such a big hit with the management and users that the entire tour was given the same "crazy carnival" motif. The graphic artist was Patrick Campbell who is now part of Jimmy Kimmel's late show team.

In addition to developing the web site, I was invited to be a photographer on the tour and I got to hang out and meet the bands. I was a long time Metallica and Soundgarden fan, so for me, it was the perfect bill, although the rest of world didn't think these bands belonged on an alternative music tour.
